We are a full-service animal hospital providing comprehensive pet healthcare services in Mead, WA since 1908. Our veterinarians offer a wide variety of medical, surgical, and dental services. Our hospital has advanced equipment and technologies, including comprehensive in-house testing for accurate diagnosis, digital x-ray, surgical suites, dental suites, and a pharmacy. We are committed to providing quality care at every stage of your pet's life. From routine preventive care to early detection and treatment of a wide range of conditions and diseases, we have the expertise to provide the highest standard of care for your pet. We also serve Post Falls, Spokane and Worley.

Dr. Jocelyn Woodd
Medical Director
After graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Woodd began practice in 24-hour critical care and emergency care facility in Seattle, WA. At this practice, she interned with multiple specialists including neurologists, internal medicine specialists, surgeons, critical care specialists, and oncologists. She received extensive experience in treating critical patients as well as involved medical and surgical cases.
Dr. Woodd’s training also includes completing an equine internship at Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital in Snohomish, WA. She now enjoys working on horses as well as involved small animal cases at Mt. Spokane Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Woodd was elected President of the Washington State Veterinary Medical Association in 2014, where she addressed issues affecting the profession in WA state. She currently lives with her husband, three daughters, and multiple pets in Colbert, WA.

Dr. Monique Fletcher
Veterinarian
Dr. Fletcher is originally from California. She received her Bachelor’s degree in human biology and Minor in psychology at the University of California, Merced in 2016. She went on to pursue her dream of becoming a veterinarian and graduated with her Doctorate from Midwestern University, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. During her time in veterinary school, she was an active member of feline and surgery club, and participated in many mobile spay/neuter clinics on the weekends.
Her interests include small animal general practice and surgery, with a peaked interest in exotics medicine. She has a special place in her heart for hedgehogs and all doodles! She is most excited to build relationships with her clients while providing excellent care to her patients. In her free time, she loves to travel, and spend time with friends/family. While in veterinary school, she traveled to Australia and Belize to volunteer at zoos. She has five animals at home, three dogs and two cats, and is hoping to add a hedgehog to the crew. She was married in the fall of 2021.

Dr. Kelly Hoover
Veterinarian
Dr. Hoover graduated from WSU in 1998 and has worked in Western Washington until April 2022 when she joined us at MSVH. Dr. Hoover enjoys forming long-lasting relationships with clients and bonding with her patients. She has three adult children (two who will be in college this fall and one married- living in Spokane Valley), two cats, and two crazy young dogs. She, along with her husband and family, enjoys outdoor activities, such as camping, hiking and kayaking.

Dr. Samantha ‘Sam’ Berube
Veterinarian
Dr. Berube grew up in upstate New York and graduated from SUNY Cobleskill in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. After graduating, she took a gap year and worked as a veterinary assistant at a small animal hospital for a year and a half until she was accepted at Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Being accepted at WSU was a great excuse to make the cross-country trek and try living out west, like she had always dreamed. During her time in veterinary school, Dr. Berube held officer positions and was an active member in our student chapter of American Association of Equine Practitioners and the WSU Theriogenology club. Dr. Berube received her DVM in May 2023 and is very excited to start her career with Mt. Spokane Veterinary Hospital.
Dr. Berube’s special interests include equine medicine, large animal reproduction, and surgery on all species. In her free time, she loves to hike and backpack through the Northwest with her fiancé, Alec, and her two Australian Shepherds, Maia and Evie. She also has one kitty named Dusty and a Quarter Horse named Badger, who she loves to take out on trail rides. If she’s not outside with her animals, you can usually find her getting cozy with a good book.

Office Manager
Jessica has been with the clinic since March of 2015 as one of our receptionists. She was born and raised here in Spokane. After going to school in Billings, Montana, she came back with her Bachelor of Science in Equestrian Management and Business Management, and her husband Zach. Together they have multiple cats, dogs, and horses. They enjoy the outdoors and spending time together with their animals.

Larissa
Hospital Manager
Larissa grew up in Spokane, but spent many of her young adult years living in Yakima, WA. Larissa enjoys building relationships with clients, and is very passionate, not only about the veterinary field, but also our clinic here at MSVH. She has two dogs; an Irish Wolfhound and a German Shepherd. When she’s not working, Larissa is spending time with her husband and three boys.

Jaimee
Lead Licensed Tech
Jaimee is a valuable member of our team as a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She studied at the Yakima Valley Veterinary Technology Program and has been licensed since 2004. Together Jaimee and her husband Marshall run their mini-farm which includes horses, chickens, cats, and a dog. They have two kids and enjoy spending their time outdoors

Sammy
Lead Receptionist
Sammy and her husband Dewey live in Spokane on a little slice of heaven they call the Lucky Bee Farm. She has one grown son, Alex. Sammy retired from a long career in retail management, and now loves being able to spend her days surrounded by animals. She has been one of our valued receptionists since 2015. She loves traveling, reading, and working around the farm. She is also a self proclaimed “Crazy Chicken Lady” and has an ever expanding flock of extremely pampered hens.

Licensed Veterinary Technician
Lauren has been with us since December 2018. Lauren started as a receptionist and through dedication and perseverance, she went back to college and graduated from Penn Foster obtaining her degree in Veterinary Science. Lauren is truly a valuable member of our team as she can do it all and is always willing to help. Lauren is wife and mom of boys!! She enjoys spending her time chasing her kids in sports, being out on the water, and riding her horses.

Hailey
Licensed Veterinary Technician
Hailey joined us after completing her schooling at the Yakima Valley College Technician Program. She is planning on obtaining her license this fall. She has always wanted to work with animals growing up, originally as a K9 police officer. However, the draw of veterinary medicine swayed her to our side. Besides spending her free time fishing, hiking, and watching great movies (like Harry Potter), Maggie her dog keeps her busy.

Carolyn
Lead Veterinary Assistant
Carolyn was born in Coeur d’Alene before moving to Spokane- and she is here to stay! She has a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from University of Idaho. Carolyn enjoys the variety of patients and cases that bring her challenges every day. She loves large animals and assisting our hospitalized patients; as well as being able to work with our doctors in rooms and seeing cases from start to finish. There are too many animals to count at Carolyn’s house; she cares for cattle, sheep, llamas, rabbits, chickens, and cats! One day she hopes to have a donkey, but will probably add to her cattle herd before that. Carolyn hopes to continue in the vet med field for many years to come. She also has plans to stay heavily involved in her family farm; moving from hobby to business, focusing on regenerative agriculture and stewardship of the land. In the few free moments Carolyn has, she enjoys writing, farm projects, swimming, and always continuing to learn!

Veterinary Assistant & Pharmacy Tech
Kelsey has been a part of MSVH since August 2021. She was born and raised right here in Spokane. She came to us with lots of veterinary experience; from time spent in a vet tech program, as well as years of practical application in a clinic setting. Kelsey loves knowing that she is making a difference in both our patients’ and their owner’s lives (she also really enjoying getting to see the cows that come in!). Kelsey hopes to continue her education and grow in the veterinary field. She has the cutest Springer Spaniel named, Nashville (Nash Tater); and loves getting outdoors to camp, fish, and dirt bike!

Veterinary Assistant
Adam was born in Maryland, but grew up here in Spokane. Adam completed one year of veterinary assistant schooling at NewTech Skills Center; and hopes to one day become a Veterinary Technician. He has three dogs; a german shepherd, a mastiff, and a cockapoo. He would eventually like to have more dogs than is acceptable though! Adam enjoys working with our patients and watching them improve over time. At home he enjoys Dungeons and Dragons, cosplay and making sure his dog doesn’t eat grass.

Veterinary Assistant
Maddy grew up in the small town of Tonasket, WA. She just finished her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and is working to gain experience in the veterinary field. Her goal is to become a veterinarian and in 5-10 years, hopes to be practicing in a clinic setting. Maddy loves interacting with a variety of animals and assisting with their medical needs. She has 3 pets of her own; a cat named Goat, and two goats named Lawrence and Joesphine. When she isn’t working, she like to hike, camp, bake, and take road trips.

April grew up in Deer Park and joined our clinic in the beginning of 2023. She is currently attending Ashworth College online to complete her Veterinary Technician degree. She has her veterinary assistant certificate and has spent 2+ years at another clinic. April is looking forward to completing school and is looking forward to working at MSVH as a licensed veterinary technician. While not at work, April enjoys fishing, hiking, camping, exploring the outdoors, and tending to her little farm. She has 8 cats, 5 dogs, 6 pigs, 2 goats, chickens, ducks, and geese.

Paisley comes from sunny Napa Valley, CA. At home she has two kiddos and a chocolate lab named Ringo Star. She loves the all the aspects of the medicine in the veterinary field. Paisley has almost completed Penn Foster’s Veterinary Technician program and plans to take her VTNE when she is finished. She also has an AA in Pharmacology and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Her long term goal is just to be happy. Paisley loves roller derby, the gym, being with her kids and dog, movies and date night, as well as fishing and hiking.

Laura was born and raised in Portland New York. After marrying her husband, the Air Force moved them across the country. Besides her human adult children, Ridge their dog keeps her on her toes. In her spare time, Laura loves to travel, spend time on the boat, go fishing, and generally be outdoors.

Receptionist
Sydney is very excited to learn all she can about veterinary medicine. She loves the day-to-day learning about the care and needs of each animal and seeing the variety of species that come in. Sydney grew up in Black Diamond, WA, near Enumclaw. At home she has a chocolate lab named Bo and a 12 year old quarter horse named Chief. Her goal is to start Veterinary Technician school online and would love to eventually love to focus on large animal veterinary medicine. Sydney is an avid outdoorsman. She loves to hike, hunt, and fish. She and her horse, Chief, love roping!

Rachel started with us in the fall of 2022. She loves getting to be around animals all day and enjoys all the new things she is learning. Rachel grew up in Rathdrum, ID and now lives in Colbert with her husband, teenage son, and two dogs (a Goldendoodle names Duke, and a Lab mix named Daisy). She loves to travel, hike, and watch movies with her family. In 5-10 years, Rachel hopes to be traveling in an RV with her husband and dogs!

Christina grew up in Newport, WA and has always loved animals. She enjoys getting to help our patients and their families. Christina is looking forward to many years of learning this incredible industry! Christina has 3 dogs, 2 indoor pigs, and a fish! Outside of work she loves to attend concerts, go snowboarding, tubing, or anything out doors.
